“They don't wait for us anywhere, but if someone is waiting, it might be on the plantations, as Ukrainians often say: the Poles or the Germans are struggling to pick strawberries … we have a lot of sites here in Petrikiv, create something on electricity, in the end, start mining the cryptocurrency, ”Lukashenka said.
In November last year, Belarusbank, the largest bank in Belarus, opened a cryptocurrency exchange service. Service customers can buy and sell digital money using Visa cards.
In Belarus, cryptocurrencies have been legalized since December 2017 after the adoption of the Decree on the Digital Economy. The industry is temporarily exempted from taxes, and citizens of the country can not only own digital money, but also change, buy and sell Belarusian rubles and currency, such actions do not need to be declared.
