Former US Secretary of State is confident that stricter rules for the circulation of digital assets will protect the US dollar from technological manipulation by Russia and China
Former Secretary of State and former US presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton, in an interview with MSNBS, called for tighter regulation of the cryptocurrency industry to protect against technological manipulation by Russia and China.
Clinton said the danger comes not only from states, but also from private entities that use digital assets and other technologies to destabilize the US dollar as a reserve currency.
“We're not just watching countries like China, Russia and others that manipulate technology of all kinds to their advantage. We are also seeing private actors who, either jointly with states or by themselves, are destabilizing the dollar as a reserve currency, ”Clinton said.
Last week, the ex-secretary of state called cryptocurrencies a threat to the US dollar. According to Clinton, digital assets can destabilize global currency markets and states.
