In the next three weeks, the launch of the Telegram Open Network blockchain platform will take place. Scammers are already selling non-existent altcoins, but very soon there will be a real opportunity to purchase real tokens
In September, the Bank of Russia warned that scammers would take advantage of the imminent launch of the TON project. And so it happened: advertising for the sale of Pavel Durov's tokens began to appear on social networks, and various sites offered guaranteed profitability, provided that the coins were purchased at a limited time at a discount price.
The scammers' activity was fueled by reports that TON investors started selling tokens of the blockchain platform prior to its launch. In the summer, CoinDesk wrote that the altcoin appeared on the secondary market, as ICO participants got tired of waiting for the release and decided to sell assets, despite the ban under the rules of the initial offer. This information has not found real confirmation.
In July, the Japanese marketplace Liquid started selling Gram coins for $ 4, but on the condition that buyers cannot receive their tokens until the official launch of TON. It will happen in the next three weeks, otherwise the team will have to return all invested funds.
In early October, the developers informed investors that the project would be completed on time, by the end of the month, and by October 16, they needed to create a special electronic wallet to receive coins. The rules for the Gram wallet have already been published on the official Telegram website, among them is that minors and residents of countries under sanctions will not be able to use the service. In addition, TON may, at its sole discretion and for any reason, block the user's account.
Among the few real companies that announced that they would trade the token was the British cryptocurrency exchange DSX. Its representatives claim that the platform will allow clients to purchase Gram from the first investors of the ICO project. Altcoin should appear on the DSX platform immediately after the release of the platform from Pavel Durov.
TON itself calls the Swiss firm Gram Vault the first major seller of the Gram cryptocurrency. Telegram Vice President Ilya Perekopsky, one of the founders of the Blackmoon blockchain platform, through which altcoin will be implemented, spoke about this in the summer. Gram Vault itself claims to have bank accounts in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the United States, provides connections to the largest crypto exchanges and positions itself as the main storage solution for Gram tokens for early investors.
After a while after the launch of the blockchain from Pavel Durov, the altcoin Gram will be presented on the largest cryptocurrency exchanges. In May, rumors appeared on the network that initially token trading would start in Asian countries. Therefore, now it is better not to try to bypass the system. It will not work to buy Gram tokens cheaply at a discounted price. All sites that currently offer such services are fraudulent, because the sale of an altcoin can become possible only after the release.
