According to the CEO of the US branch of the site Brett Harrison, the trading platform is awaiting approval from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)
The head of the American branch of the FTX crypto exchange, Brett Harrison, said in an interview with Decrypt that FTX.US will allow clients to trade cryptocurrency derivatives by the end of the year. According to Harrison, the exact timing of the opening of access to crypto derivatives is difficult to name, since a lot depends on the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
If the CFTC approves the FTX.US application, the trading platform will not be FTX-like, Harrison said.
“FTX US and FTX are separate companies. Any derivatives traded on FTX US will be regulated by the CFTC and therefore comply with all regulatory requirements, ”explained Harrison.
FTX is one of the five largest crypto exchanges in the world in terms of trading volume. Over the past 24 hours, the trading volume on the site amounted to $ 11.4 billion. Over the same period, the trading volume of the American branch of the exchange (FTX.US) amounted to $ 212 million.
